Great piece! I never tire of hearing these stories from every angle.

If only we had law enforcement backing us up. I would literally volunteer to work undercover to catch these people who groom our children into this cult.

Great parenting! It's been a very difficult time for you, but you have dealt with it in an exemplary way. This is what parental love for a child consists of. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing your harrowing but ultimately hopeful story. So often it doesn't end this well.

You describe some appalling issues here: the irresponsibility of the school in not putting safeguards on your son's computer, the accessibility of hardcore porn with live predators waiting to lure young victims, and the ideological capture of the educational and legal systems that turns parents into villains, leaving you with no way to defend your parental rights or the rights of your son.

Fortunately, the actions you took, your great relationship with your son, and his ongoing emotional vulnerability, worked in your favor. The fact that you were able to locate a non-gender affirming therapist for him is a miracle. So many of them are useless now because they're been brainwashed.

I wish your family all the best.

My daughter was sucked down into the Deviant Art site too! She likes to draw and frequented this site at the age of 15 and 16. I was a nosey mom and took a look at what she was writing on the message board with other people. To my horror, it was full blown hard core sex talk in the disguise of cosplay!

I made her delete her account. It was too late though, she now had connections there and strange people popped up in her email. I made her disconnect from them too. Once Pandora's box is opened though, there is only so much a parent can do. I thought back during this time and realized that when she was even younger, her computer had become 'infected' and porn that kept flashing on the screen. She had no idea how it got there, so she told me then. By the age of 19, she was into the trans world, from which she eventually escaped, no thanks to certain online sites such as Deviant Art.

I tell every parent I know to be vigilant and definitely do NOT let their child touch Deviant Art's site. I mean, the name says it all!
