Thanks for your reply. My daughter wants to research in pharmacology. Her own body is part of a poorly managed experiment. The only way trans people can legally get cross sex hormones is for the medical profession to believe that they are actually the opposite sex! I am beyond angry with the stupidity and untrustworthiness of the NHS in England which has adopted policies based on this lie.

What an amazing testimony of the journey of your life! Very refreshing and fascinating. Thank you for your intelligent self reflection and sharing your perspective on the gender identify ideology we're all trying to come to terms with. I will share your story with some detranstioning women I'm in touch with. Much gratitude for writing down your unique perspective. Margo, living in captured Trastralia :((

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It's so powerful to hear from women who have gone on this journey to one degree or another and come back. Yours is especially compelling because you did not have the influences of social media at play, and it seems that lack of influence played a big role in you journeying back to yourself. It's very comforting to hear you encourage us parents to resist the pressure to affirm and medicalize. That even back then you knew of the dangers of cross-sex hormones is incredible, and yet today their negative side effects are rarely mentioned when you hear activists and kids discuss it. Thanks again.

You hit the nail on the head. To begin with, the idea that anyone has to deny their biological reality in order to be their "true authentic self" is absurd. Be who you are (masculine or feminine or, for most, a messy mixture of both), and appreciate a healthy body - period and end of story. Second, it's true that those who are controlling the narrative are not the oppressed victims here. They are a combination of woefully misguided individuals who are failing to consider what they're doing to these young people, some of whom are defending their own decisions (either on behalf of their children if they blindly affirmed or on behalf of themselves if they've medicalized and don't want to feel regret), greedy insensitive beasts who just see an opportunity for a never-ending stream of money, and lazy-minded people who want to be part of the Good Ones. You are a brave soul, unique and honest. Thanks for sharing your story.

Thank you for writing clearly and honestly. It is true that transgenderism is an extreme reaction to

the normal discomfort girls feel becoming women. Glad you noticed that you are too pretty to be male. I wish my beautiful daughter had noticed. Detransitioning after seven years on testosterone would be difficult. She just had a phone call from her “pharmacy team” to review medication. I feel stressed knowing that people are promoting this drug to her. This addiction has damaged her but she does not notice as the drug seems to me like heroin. Or maybe it is the antidepressant causing the issues. I want testosterone made illegal!

I was a weird kid and my son is an even weirder kid. I eventually learned to appreciate that I was different and try to encourage that self acceptance for my son.

This is so beautiful. A woman who is confident enough to be a woman but to not let the world define her based on their notions of that. This is the future we are denying to our young today.

You certainly are a fascinating person and a true outlier. How lucky you were (a) to have parents who not only tolerated, but supported you in being yourself rather than insisting that you conform to societal gender expectations; and (b) that you were born before social media and the era of mandatory, politicized, medicalized transgender indoctrination for children, including in the public schools. If these two facts had not been in play, your story would read very differently today.

I found your piece very moving and powerful. Yes, you are beautiful exactly as you are. As are all the young women and men who are being encouraged to ravage their bodies in pursuit of some unattainable ‘other’. It’s a complete travesty. Thank you for speaking out in public.

This is a very good, brave, expose of what it is surely like for many who are captured by this extreme lifestyle decision. It is really a great accomplishment that you have prevailed on the other side of all this. Testimony to the things humans can do. That "Trans" when it involves taking advantage of children and those who have been marginalized in other ways is abuse is indisputable. The amount of corporate, medical, political hegemony we are dealing with is extreme. The big takeaway from this is the people who are doing it are psychopaths and/or affected by a mass hysteria. These things don't excuse them however - it is still a decision.
